Late Night Shopping
The first Friday of the month of December marks the annual Lghts of Love ceremony and Late Night Shopping evening. The evening usually starts in the grounds of The Manor House with the lighting of the Lights of Love Tree in aid of the Isabel Hospice. Traditional carols are sung in this special ceremony.
The high street is closed to traffic as the towns people enjoy visiting stalls selling Christmas gifts. There is a fun fair, Santa and his sleigh with Christmas music and lights. A prize is given by the town Mayor for the Best Shop Window Display.
