The Buntingford Chamber of Commerce is putting plans in place for the inaugural Buntingford Festival. The idea of the 5 week-long celebration is to showcase everything which is unique, charming and vibrant about the town. Despite coordinating, the Chamber of Commerce is keen for the town itself to take ownership of the Festival so it becomes an annual celebration for Buntingford, put on by the people of Buntingford. There will be bunting hung along the high street for the duration, with businesses invited to sponsor their own colour for £125 and appear on the Festival poster. Competitions will be run for ‘Best Shop-front Bunting’ and ‘Best Dressed House’.
Established events such as the Buntingford Carnival (Saturday 21st June) and Buntsfest (Saturday 28th June) will be included in a program of events. If you already have plans or an idea for an event between Monday 26th May and Sunday 29th June, this can be listed as part of the Festival Celebrations. In addition, the Chamber is inviting local businesses, organisations, shops, pubs, schools, clubs and individuals to get involved and put on their own event on one of the days yet to be filled. Simply contact the Chamber of Commerce with details of your plans, on info@buntingfordchamberofcommerce.co.uk and they will add it to the listings. All varieties of activity are invited and plans are underway for an organised dog walk, competitions and live band performances.
