Hitchin based Toque Tambor will bring the sound of Brazil to Buntingford as enthusiasts prepare for the World Cup next week. On Thursday 12th June, just before the official start of the FIFA World Cup, Toque Tambor will bring its 20 strong drumming troupe to perform. The drummers will kick off around 7.30 and are expected to perform right up to the first kick of the World Cup as hosts Brazil play Croatia. The World Cup will be screened in most of the pubs in Buntingford.
This performance is a contribution to the Buntingford Festival 26 May – 29 June, sponsored local firm EwePack who provide sports event logistics worldwide, including Brazil. Director, Steve Lawson-Smith said ‘I’ve been to Brazil a number of times and we regularly work with sports and commercial event facilitators in the region. It’s great to bring some of the colour and atmosphere of a sporty nation to our little town. Everybody should come out on Thursday night. Bring a vuvuzela or a rattle, visit your favourite pub and join in the fun.’
